Design Engineer, Structural

Responsibilities

• Apply principles, methods, and techniques of structural engineering to design vehicular and pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, culverts, dams, and other structures
• Assist with quantity take-offs and engineering estimates for structural design projects including bridge construction and rehabilitation, retaining wall construction, culvert construction, dam construction, and other structures
• Assist with utility coordination, construction details, staging/traffic control plans, bid items, specifications, and minor civil design as needed
• Perform required calculations for accurate and complete design of project features
• Assist with bridge inspections and other inspections as needed, and develop inspection reports
• Coordinate with other departments and sub-consultants on project design as needed
• Assist with accuracy and quality of engineering design, specifications, and estimates
• Utilize MicroStation to prepare plans and construction documents

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required
