Design Engineer, New Technology Integration, Global RME

As a Design PM of New Technology Integration, you will own the design for maintainability and serviceability of new Fulfillment Centers across the Amazon network. You will engage customers to understand and document business requirements, drive problem solutions, and manage implementation programs. You will balance business needs with technical constraints, striving to find the right solution for each customer while maintaining a strong focus on standards, scalability, and supportability. You will implement technical approaches and direct cross-functional efforts to meet timelines. Frequent travel to various Fulfillment Center locations is required to perform design audits and drive long-term improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead optimization of mechanical system designs within budget, coordinating across disciplines and managing trade-offs.
  • Direct 3D modeling efforts and clash detection management across the project portfolio.
  • Review and approve 2D installation layout drawings.
  • Validate spatial analysis of clearance envelopes, egress pathways, etc., across projects.
  • Ensure maintenance and safety standards are applied consistently across all projects.
  • Ensure all engineering decisions are properly documented through design plans, complete installation files, and engineering instructions.
  • Travel to sites as needed to conduct audits, resolve complex issues, and support teams.
  • Develop engineering team capabilities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology, or 4+ years of Amazon RME (Reliability Maintenance Engineering) BB/3P Full-Time Exempt experience.
  • Experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments, or experience in reliability/maintenance environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Amazon RME (Reliability Maintenance Engineering) or fulfillment operations, or experience in similar environments.

Pay

  • USA, TN, Nashville: $68,900.00 - $103,400.00 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Austin: $76,600.00 - $114,900.00 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Houston: $76,600.00 - $114,900.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $76,600.00 - $114,900.00 USD annually

About The Team

The RME NTI team manages the integration of new equipment into the maintenance engineering team's portfolio. We aim to improve the reliability and maintainability of new equipment being introduced into our fulfillment network.
