Design Engineer III

Design Engineer III (Mechanical) is responsible for leading mechanical design efforts for new product development, supporting sustainability initiatives, and providing lab testing expertise, focusing on sound and vibration analysis. Key duties include designing electric motor housings and components, analyzing and testing mechanical systems to optimize acoustic performance, identifying cost savings, managing project priorities, reviewing drawings, writing specifications, and collaborating with suppliers. Responsibilities also encompass creating test plans, monitoring testing processes, analyzing data, ensuring safety compliance, and promoting continuous improvement. The role requires managing multiple projects, capturing product knowledge, and supporting cross-functional teams. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with 7-10 years of mechanical design experience, proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks), strong understanding of sound/vibration, root cause analysis, and testing capabilities. Preferred candidates hold a master’s degree, experience with FEA/CFD, sound measurement software, and industry-specific knowledge. Skills include effective communication, project management, safety awareness, and working in fast-paced environments. Less than 15% regional/global travel is expected, and candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
