Design Engineer, Combustion Mechanical
Mechanical or aerospace engineer with gas turbine experience who will contribute to the design, development, and fleet support of GE's heavy-duty industrial gas turbine combustion system aeroderivative products. The role involves fast-paced, diverse engineering deliverables in both hands-on and analytical contexts, including exposure to all elements of the engineering cycle: design hand-calculations, determining boundary condition inputs into FEA analysis, preparation and design of laboratory & field test hardware, and verbal & written presentation of data/conclusions. This role will have ownership of Combustion mechanical-related deliverables for Aeroderivative Combustion Systems.
Responsibilities
- Complete procedures, design templates, and other standard work methods using hand calculations, FEA, test data, and good engineering judgement to justify designs against acceptance criteria.
- Design combustion systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements.
- Operate with some autonomy within a defined framework, consulting and seeking support from senior members when necessary to accomplish work and priorities.
- Effectively document and present results in formal and informal reviews.
- Protect the IP rights of the Company and align with overall business priorities: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, in that order.
- Maintain a basic understanding of key business drivers and apply this understanding to your work.
- Demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Exercise exceptional computer skills.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.

Pay
The pay range for this U.S.-based position is $72,000.00 to $108,000.00, with a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.
