Design Engineer

About the role

This position is responsible for developing engineering solutions for PEC's clients through design and coordination with other design disciplines. Key responsibilities include preparing design deliverables, performing calculations, coordinating with contractors, and managing projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design deliverables for a variety of projects
• Coordinate with other design staff for construction documents and specifications
• Perform engineering design and calculations such as Arc Flash, Motor Transients, Coordination studies, Voltage Drop, Cable Pulling, etc.
• Support contractor and client during project construction, including reviewing equipment and resolving conflicts
• Organize and complete multiple projects on schedule, adhering to PEC standards
• Provide electrical project management services and utilize PEC standard tools and documents
• Communicate and coordinate with the Design Team to complete design tasks on numerous projects

Requirements

• Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering

Qualifications

• Understanding of related electrical codes such as the NEC, NESC, and associated IEEE codes
• Experience with BIM/CAD software, hand calculations, and computer-based calculations
• Proficiency in spreadsheet software and historical data analysis
• Knowledge of electrical equipment and its proper specifications
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects efficiently

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
