About the Role

As Design Director for Calvin Klein Mens apparel, you will develop the Wovens line under the direction of the EVP Global Design. You will lead the Mens wovens Design team, ensuring adherence to multiple project deadlines while maintaining the Calvin Klein brand identity in all collaborations.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the EVP of Global Design and partner with the Senior Director of Men’s Sweater and Cut & Sew to create cohesive executions for CK Jeans and CK Sportswear, aligning with brand identity.
  • Lead the Cut & Sew team, Sweaters team, and collaborate with the larger Menswear design team (print, color, graphics, hardware) to research and develop concepts, colors, fabrics, prints, and graphics.
  • Develop concepts based on merchandising planning.
  • Oversee the print team (dotted line) to ensure alignment for CK Jeans and CK Sportswear development and final print approval.
  • Attend fittings and review prototypes, or delegate to the team when unavailable.
  • Convey design information to Sourcing, Merchandising, and Technical Design teams, including details for technical packages.
  • Prepare design presentations for review meetings.
  • Organize and maintain relevant information (mill cards, collection files, etc.).
  • Ensure timely line development by adhering to the time and action calendar; support team workflow to promote work/life balance.
  • Manage, select, and train staff in collaboration with the EVP of Global Design.

Requirements

  • 10-12 years of design experience with a specialization in Men’s Wovens and Prints.
  • Familiarity with fabric development, balancing quality and price to create competitive products.
  • Skilled at partnering with Raw Materials teams for novelty searches.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Fashion Design.

Skills

  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • High fashion aesthetics and strong awareness of global trends.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.
  • Strong internal communication with Design, Supply Chain, Raw Materials, Planning/Merchandising, and Sales teams.
  • External collaboration with mills, factories, fabric, and trim vendors.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly manage a team of 3-4 people, with dotted-line oversight of freelancers and seasonal interns.
  • Provide direction to designers and present the seasonal line to senior management.

Work Environment

Pay

Base salary range: $162,200–$218,800. This role is bonus-eligible and equity-eligible.
