DESIGN CONSULTANT

About the role

Join Bassett Furniture as a Design Consultant and help customers bring their dream rooms to life. This role is ideal for positive, motivated professionals with a passion for interior design, exceptional selling skills, and a love for building customer relationships. You’ll use “relationship selling” techniques through interior design consultations and makeovers to maximize sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful and long-term customer relationships.
• Use comprehensive knowledge of furniture construction and design trends to guide customers.
• Conduct interior design consultations and makeovers to drive sales.
• Engage customers to determine their needs based on taste, lifestyle, and budget.
• Create, present, and sell product and design solutions.
• Conduct virtual appointments and live chats.
• Visit customers’ residences and businesses for in-person makeovers.
• Act as a supportive team member in a fast-paced retail environment.

Requirements

• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Desire to work in a commissioned sales environment.
• Ability to thrive in a varied-paced retail setting.
• Capability to travel to customers’ locations for makeovers.

Qualifications

Pay

This role features a generous commission-based compensation plan, with potential earnings for experienced Design Consultants averaging $70,000–$105,000 per year. Top performers can earn up to $135,000 annually. Additional bonus opportunities are available beyond base commission (paid on written business).
