Design/BIM Coordinator
About the Role
The Design/BIM Coordinator establishes initial project setups, supports Senior Coordinators with model modifications, and tracks project schedules for the management team. This position requires strong technical proficiency in BIM and modeling software, along with a working understanding of NGi's scope of work, light gauge framing, and trade constructability. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with internal and external project teams while supporting the development of technicians and drafters within the BIM department.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain initial BIM project setups in accordance with project requirements and department standards.
- Support Senior Coordinators with model modifications, updates, and coordination activities.
- Assist Senior Coordinators with BIM coordination meetings and actively participate in the BIM coordination process.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external teams to support BIM coordination and project requirements.
- Review project models and documents to identify potential coordination and constructability issues.
- Update project schedule lists monthly and provide accurate information to the management team.
- Work as part of a BIM/CAD support team to achieve consistent, accurate, and high-quality results.
- Assist Technicians and Drafters with training, development, and technical skill improvement.
- Support the development and implementation of consistent BIM standards and processes.
- Assist with troubleshooting technical and coordination issues as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements
- Associate degree in Design, Drafting, Architecture, Construction, or a related field preferred. Three years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Experience with BIM, drafting, construction documents, or commercial construction preferred.
- Experience working with framing, drywall, or other specialty construction trades is a plus.
Skills
- Ability to comprehend and interpret architectural and construction documents.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering design packages in relation to a given project.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams during BIM coordination.
- General understanding of NGi's scope of work and light gauge framing constructability.
- Ability to identify potential constructability and coordination issues within project models.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
- Ability to provide guidance, training, and support to less experienced BIM team members.
Computer Skills
- AutoCAD: Proficient in creating 2D and 3D objects and developing precise shop drawings.
- Revit: Proficient in creating and modifying families, templates, and parameters.
- Navisworks: Proficient in navigating models, running clash detections, and identifying coordination issues.
- Bluebeam: Proficient in creating markups, reviewing drawings, pulling dimensions, and editing PDFs.
- MWF (Metal Wall Framer): Basic understanding preferred.
- Microsoft Office: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
