About the role

The design assurance team supports Zebra's commitment to quality and is responsible for ensuring products meet specifications throughout various stages of development. This role involves providing all design assurance deliverables required in the development process, including evaluation of materials, properties, and techniques, advising on component selection and application, evaluating test methods, and designing reliability test plans.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of materials, properties, and techniques used in production of Zebra’s devices or solutions
  • Advising design engineering on the selection, application, and test of mechanical and/or electronic components and systems
  • Evaluating design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability
  • Determining reliability requirements of components and systems to achieve company, customer, and any governmental agency reliability objectives
  • Using statistical methods to design reliability and verification test plans
  • Creating and analyzing qualification test plans and results
  • Creating and analyzing designed experiments to determine main effects of low complexity device sub-systems to improve designs
  • Using hypothesis testing and other statistical methods to assess the significance of test results
  • Actively reviewing, understanding, and applying the Market Requirements Document and Engineering Specifications to quantify metrics and acceptance thresholds
  • Communicating proactively with the project team and other stakeholders about progress against qualification testing and reliability analysis and results
  • Proactively tracking metrics for the product prior to and following alpha release
  • Participating in program Risk Assessment and mitigation activities
  • Aiding in the understanding of technical issues and approaches to determining root cause and corrective action
  • Escalating novel issues or concerns about design approach and conformance to standards to a senior level engineer or manager for assistance
  • Analyzing and approving Engineering changes to production products
  • Contributing to innovation efforts by participating actively in brainstorming activities and benchmarking externally with other organizations on best practices in design assurance
  • Providing product qualification or reliability test support over the life-cycle of the product to support cost-saving initiatives, end-of-life part requalifications, second-source requalifications, or critical design improvements due to field performance or customer escalations

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field (Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineer)
  • Minimum Work Experience: 2+ years’ experience in Hardware Engineering &/or Electronics Engineer
  • Key Skills And Competencies: Analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills; Knowledge of SW operating systems, (Python, PowerBI, Visual Basic, MS Office PowerApp and Power Automate); Knowledge of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), Analog IC Design, Electrical Schematics, Integrated Circuits (ICs), Quality Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistical Methods, Electrical Validation, Electrical Components, Root Cause Problem Solving, Mixed-Signal IC Design, IC Failure Analysis, Electrical Testing, Power Management IC, Quality Planning, PCB Layout, Quality Improvement, PCB Development, Printed Circuit Board Soldering, Printed Circuit Board Design

Pay Range

$76,640.00 - $114,960.00 Annual Incentive Compensation In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
