Design and Outreach Associate

NCAER is India’s oldest and largest national, non-profit, independent economic research institute. About the role

The Design and Outreach Associate will report to the NCAER National Data Innovation Centre (NCAER-NDIC) Director and support NDIC’s external engagement under the supervision of the Centre Director and Senior Fellows.

Responsibilities

• Support NDIC’s print and digital communications programme by developing innovative and creative communication products.
• Develop, manage, and publish content on NDIC’s social media platforms and website using a social media calendar.
• Design presentation templates, brochures, and outreach materials while maintaining a consistent institutional brand identity.
• Produce short videos and multimedia content documenting NDIC’s research, fieldwork, events, and data collection activities.
• Collaborate with NDIC researchers to develop newsletters, data briefs, infographics, and other communication products.
• Tailor messages for different stakeholder audiences across multi-media platforms, ensuring alignment with NDIC’s and NCAER’s brand, messaging, and values.
• Promote a culture of knowledge sharing across teams.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Centre Director.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree/diploma in Mass Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related fields from a reputed institution.
• Prior experience in communications, graphic design, or digital outreach for a research organisation, think tank, university, public policy institution, or development organisation is highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Canva, Mailchimp, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and web content management software such as WordPress.
