Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in rigging up and down, aligning the well service rig with the well.
- Executes servicing operations on the well.
- Handles all elevated work associated with rigging up/down (for instance, removing horse head from pumping unit).
- Manages all work pertaining to the rod basket and tubing board (including transferring rods and tubing from vertical racks to the elevator).
- Operates tubing elevators for maintaining standing tubing in the derrick.
- Assists in moving or placing tubing, either manually lifting from racks to the floor or vice versa.
- Operates hydraulic jacks, manages pads/boards, and assists in attaching guy wires to anchors.
- Supports in laying down rods.
- Reports any safety hazards, accidents, or maintenance issues to the Tool Pusher/Field Supervisor.
- Safeguards that work adheres to Axis policies and procedures and complies with Axis and customer safety programs.
- Might be required to work on floors or operate the rig as needed.
- Might drive the crew truck as needed (requires an active state-issued driver license).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid state-issued driver license with an acceptable MVR; CDL Class A or B preferred.
- At least one (1) year of Derrick hand experience required; at least two (2) years of workover rig floor experience required.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to work a varied rotational schedule and travel as job requires.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to access the work environment by using a ladder at heights of 50 ft. or more.
- Long periods of standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching or similar activities may be necessary.
- Ability to move around in confined spaces, enter areas via ladders or other access devices; ability to bend, stoop, twist, stand, squat, crawl and walk.
- Ability to interact with others in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Basic problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Reliable telephone (cell phone) communication and transportation.
- Able to clear pre-employment drug/alcohol and job-relevant screens.
