DERMATOLOGY TECHNICIAN - FULL TIME

Description Summary/Objective

Dermatology technician performs a variety of clinical and/or administrative tasks to help a dermatologist run their office.

Essential Functions

• Sumsmonns and prepares patient for office visit.
• Affords assistance to Provider or PA with medical office procedures.
• Administers medications, including injections, documents meds given or prescribed by ordering provider.
• Administers dermatology and pathology biopsy procedures.
• Takes responsibility for maintaining current certification in CPR.
• Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policy & procedures and newsletters.
• Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting in patient’s record.
• Attends support staff and department meetings to stay informed of employee issues and concerns as well as organizational updates.
• Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials.
• Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as indicated.

Requirements

• Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.
• PREFERRED Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Medical Assistant.
• Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1 Year experience in Dermatology.
