About the role
This position plays a key role in serving the public, processing property tax payments, managing county revenues, and supporting daily financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process tax payments and county revenues.
- Post payments and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare receipts, bank deposits, and daily balancing reports.
- Aid customers in person and over the phone with tax-related questions.
- Process electronic payments and credit card transactions.
- Research tax accounts, delinquent taxes, and refund requests.
- Support audits and maintain compliance with state and county regulations.
- Prepare financial reports and update fund balances.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of progressively responsible office or financial experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
- Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch.
Qualifications
- Experience with cash handling and balancing cash drawers is a plus.
- Experience processing payments, reconciling accounts, or working with financial records is highly desirable.
