Responsibilities
- Provide forensic pathology services in the Portland metro area (Clackamas County), Eugene, and Central Point.
- Serve Southern Oregon, working with the Chief Medical Examiner to support outreach to counties served by the new facility and to help refine its operations.
- Perform autopsies.
- Provide expert medical consultation.
- Prepare reports for death investigations.
- Deliver training to law enforcement agencies, county medical examiners, district attorneys, and medicolegal death investigators.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved medical school with an MD or DO.
- Board certification or eligibility in anatomic pathology or anatomic/clinical pathology from the American Board of Pathology at hire, with board certification in forensic pathology required within two years.
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Oregon medical license at the time of hire.
