Deputy Site Manager

About the Project

Bechtel is building a 2.5 million-square-foot semiconductor manufacturing facility in New Albany, Ohio, including 600,000 square feet of cleanroom space. The project will drive regional growth by creating jobs and strengthening the workforce through partnerships with building trades, suppliers, and local educational institutions, helping establish a long-term talent pipeline and position the area as a hub for advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage the organization and direction of project construction activities and oversee total site management including supervision of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, and finance and accounting.
• Act as primary client contact for all project field activities.
• Oversee total site management including supervision of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, finance and accounting services, and craft resource personnel as applicable.
• Maintain client relationship and serve as the primary contact for client’s communication with field activities and effective relation with other functional departments.
• Coordinate all project contractual activities and participate in the development of contract, subcontract, or vendor scopes of work, budgets, contract formation, and negotiations.
• Oversee jobsite expenditures for labor, equipment, material, and services to ensure field operations are within budget.
• Establish project field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures as necessitated by conditions at the jobsite.
• Develop, implement, and administer a jobsite security plan and coordinate activities with the corporate security department.
• Ensure development and execution of Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.
• Plan and establish procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with large industrial project setup, system turnover, and completion preferred.
• Experience in semiconductor, EV battery, data centers, or pharmaceuticals preferred.

Skills

• Ability to manage the organization and direction of construction and related activities of a single construction project, including actions of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives.
• Strong coordination skills for all project contractual activities, including development of contract, subcontract, or vendor scopes of work, budgets, contract formation, and negotiations.
• Experience in developing and executing Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.
• Ability to maintain client relationships and serve as the primary contact for client’s communication with field activities.
• Ideal candidate has previous datacenter experience and has worked in a variety of delivery models including EPC and EPCM in Construction Leadership positions.
