Duties
- Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain peace and protect life and property
- Patrol assigned sectors for the prevention of crime and investigate suspicious activities
- Arc violators of laws and ordinances
- Respond to emergency calls, accidents, and other incidents
- Enforce all traffic laws; issue citations and warnings
- Serve criminal warrants, and court orders
- Conduct investigations of criminal cases and gather, preserve, and analyze facts and evidence
- Conduct follow-up investigations of preliminary investigative reports, as needed
- Interview complainants, victims, witnesses, and suspects
- Prepare detailed reports of incidents and investigations
- Testify in criminal court on various matters, including findings of investigations
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- .POST Certified as a Law Enforcement Officer in the State of Georgia and in good standing
- United States Citizen
- Possess a valid driver license
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must qualify on the State Qualification Course with assigned firearms
- Pass a background investigation, psychological examination, drug screen, and oral interview
- Have no felony convictions
