Deputy Program Officer

The Deputy Program Officer will work closely with the Chief Program Officer to focus on strategic and operational goals for all assigned programs. This role involves program leadership and management, internal relationships, and knowledge management to ensure services meet community needs and adhere to high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining programmatic excellence, including compliance with local, state, and private funders, updating program policies and procedures, and developing internal programmatic reviews.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance with all related policies and procedures.
- Support program managers in developing timelines, resources, and adherence to program budgets to achieve agency goals.
- Ensure systems are in place to measure and track program performance and outcomes throughout the year.
- Assist in developing inter-program communication and cohesiveness, fostering a strong organizational culture.
- Instill a culture of accountability among program management staff through consistent oversight of performance standards.
- Work with agency staff to develop systems, processes, and tools for knowledge management, including facilitating program manager meetings.
- Ensure program outcomes are evaluated and reported to maximize community and organizational impact.
- Collaborate with programs to integrate cross-program activities and functions.
- Assist program managers with communications across agency-wide departments as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Non-profit Management or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least five years of experience in non-profit program management with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, solid judgment, and a superb reputation among peers for quality work and successful outcomes.
- At least two years of managerial experience, including budgeting, management, and staff development.
- Experience in leadership, coaching, and relationship management.
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and excellence in program management.
- Experience leading a program through major initiatives, operational changes, or growth stages.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience developing and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships with external partners.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Signal Centers, adhering to high ethical standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a complex environment with shifting priorities.
- Reliable transportation and proof of insurance, as frequent community travel is required.
- Physical exam, including TB skin test/chest x-ray, required prior to beginning work.
