Evaluates, Determines, and Drives Program Management Activities
Leads moderately to significantly complex program management functions on assigned program elements and/or strategic business processes. Acts as primary point of contact for one or more program elements supporting specific weapon, product/service, or reimbursable programs. Represents Program Management function for assigned program elements to internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluates, determines, and drives program management activities to manage one or more moderate to significantly complex weapons program elements.
- Provides expertise to review and drive execution of innovative solutions to technical issues.
- Applies program management and financial standards to the development of cost and schedule frameworks for projects and program elements; intervenes as necessary to ensure delivery to cost and schedule agreements.
- Defines and establishes production/project definitions, maintenance of schedules, and engineering releases associated with assigned program elements for a weapon or reimbursable program.
- Performs some technical, administrative, and logistical liaison roles with company, Department of Energy, design agencies, laboratories, integrated contractors, and other government agencies for one or more weapons and growth programs.
- Maintains primary support and guidance to the financial planning, monitoring, scheduling, preparation, and release of technical/schedule information required for program/project planning.
- Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with other internal business units and external customers.
- Guides and mentors Associate Program Managers and other program support staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering, business, or program management.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to work remotely, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
- United States citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
- Ability to integrate concepts and information with program management systems and processes.
- Ability to provide project management guidance, consultative services, and innovative solutions.
- Working knowledge of business concepts principles associated with project cost and forecasting.
- Effective communication, interactive, and presentation skills.
- Established knowledge of customers, products, technologies, processes, and PMI certification preferred.
