About the role

Investigate and maintain records on all deaths which are considered suicidal, accidental, homicidal, unexplained, unusual, suspicious, sudden; those where a physician is not available or will not sign a death certificate; and in those deaths where cremation is to be the final disposition of the corpse. Further duties include authorizing all cremations and disinterments, screening all death certificates issued in Marinette County for compliance with final disposition and proper execution of the death certificate and receiving and recording an accurate account of all monies collected for death certificates and cremations.

Qualifications

  • United States citizenship
  • 18 years of age or older
  • No felony convictions in any court in US unless pardoned of conviction
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Death Investigation Training through the State of WI within six months of appointment
  • Insurance acceptable driver’s license
  • Prefer training or experience in the Emergency Medical Technician, Nursing or related field

Schedule

  • Part Time, On-call position
  • 2 hours minimum pay per call
  • $3.00/hour on-call pay when on call
  • On-call hours mainly 5:00 am – 5:00 pm, Sunday through Saturday, holidays occasionally

Pay

  • $23.92/hour
