About the role

The Deputy Fire Chief of Professional Standards assists the Fire Chief in providing leadership and oversight of department operations, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous organizational improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership to guide positive organizational and community outcomes.
• Promotes effective communication and collaboration within and outside the organization.
• Oversees and establishes minimum training and performance standards and safety practices.
• Develops and facilitates an annual training plan that supports maintenance of all required credentialing.
• Captains quality assurance program/practices to ensure the department meets the city’s expectations, the community’s needs, and industry best practices.
