DEPUTY EXECUTIVE OFFICER, PROJECT MANAGEMENT (TRAFFIC ENGINEERING)
Description
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Metro, has retained Gomez Partners to seek a Deputy Executive Officer, Project Management (Traffic Engineering). This role supports Metro’s mission to enhance the quality of life for all residents within LA County.
Responsibilities
- Directs and oversees the delivery of major capital construction projects within Metro’s portfolio
- Ensures projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards
- Maintains schedule and budget objectives
- Provides strategic leadership in planning, design coordination, and construction management
- Emphasizes traffic engineering and construction traffic management for complex urban infrastructure projects
- Collaborates with internal departments, external agencies, and multiple consultants to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to Metro’s operational standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in the transportation industry
- Proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects
- Experience in traffic engineering and construction traffic management
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations applicable to transportation projects

Pay
Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
