Deputy Director – Medical Services
About the role
Provide direct assistance to the Director of Health, Safety and Medical in establishing, directing, and managing the overall Site Medical Services and Operations; ensure the implementation, compliance, and performance to DOE directives and SRS standards with respect to those programs. Act on behalf of the Director when required. Responsible for integrating SRS Medical requirements into a balanced program within constrained resources.
Responsibilities
- Develop a planning, programming, and budgeting process that operates under sound financial management principles for each budget cycle.
- Track and report on key performance indicators to measure the success of Site Medical programs.
- Identify potential risks to the program and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide guidance in the development, direction, implementation and evaluation of the SRS M&O integrating contractor Site Medical Programs.
- Determine program goals, resource needs, allocate resources, and accounts for their effective use; implement program strategies that align with customer objectives and mission requirements.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on program status, financial performance, and key metrics to senior officials and stakeholders.
- Provide technical and programmatic guidance and direction to personnel and subcontractors in accomplishing work.
- Provide on-call support on the off shift (evenings, nights and weekends) when rotating providers are unavailable.
Requirements
- Fifteen or more YOE as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed plus six or more years of experience (YOE) in a relevant management role, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus twelve or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus eight or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of 10 CFR 710, 10CFR 712, and 10 CFR 851.
- Working knowledge and understanding of 10 CFR 1046.
- Hold South Carolina Medical license.
- Experience in Occupational and Environmental Medicine including Department of Transportation.
- Previous experience related to developing and coordinating sitewide implementation of advanced medical surveillance programs.
- Multifunctional management experience.
