Deputy City Treasurer
About the role
The City Treasurer's Department is seeking a Deputy City Treasurer to join our team. This classification is distinguished from the Administrative Services Analyst in that it performs advanced professional financial, managerial and/or operational analysis work and/or provides professional program analysis, evaluation and administration. May lead professional level staff and may serve as a designated subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
- Provide management, fiscal, and administrative support to the City Treasurer’s Office.
- Conduct comprehensive financial, managerial, and operational analysis.
- Develop recommendations to improve processes, programs, and financial efficiency.
- Lead and participate in projects requiring advanced analytical skills and independent judgment.
- Ensure work activities align with established management objectives and organizational priorities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field.
- Experience: Three (3) years of journey-level professional experience in area of assignment.
Skills
- Advanced professional financial, managerial and/or operational analysis.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive financial, managerial, and operational analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop recommendations.
- Leadership and project management experience.
Benefits
This position is not eligible for overtime pay. The City does not offer hybrid or remote work.
Pay
The starting salary range for this position is TBD. The City of Oxnard does not participate in social security.
Schedule
The normal work week is Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., and alternating Fridays, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This position may be required to be available to work additional hours as needed to respond to workload needs.
