Position Summary
This position in the Children’s Community Support Network (CCSN) program is designed to perform tasks/duties that are outlined in the plan of care for the child/children enrolled in the program. As detailed by the case manager in the plan of care, this position will provide support services to children whose families are requiring assistance to care for children with serious emotional disturbances.
Job Duties
- Social Emotional Support: Social skills training and processing appropriate behavior in the home, school, and community.
- Educational Support: Work with teachers to support the educational plan for the child by attending class with the child (if needed), and attending school conferences.
- Crisis Resolution: Follow crisis plan when needed. Plan and supervise recreational activities.
- Resource Development: Attend CCSN Coordination meetings. Maintain on-going communication with the case manager regarding family or individual progress. Participate in the child's team meetings, as necessary.
- Maintain records, casenotes, and reports according to agency and CCSN standards. Follow child maltreatment reporting procedures according to agency and state guidelines.
- Participate in in-service training as required and approved by the supervisor. Attend and participate in appropriate staff meetings.
- Provide transportation as part of the plan of care.
- Perform related work as assigned.

- Ability to maintain accurate and current casenotes.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing regarding families and maintain a knowledge of the laws and policies related to confidentiality.
Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or its equivalent and two (2) years previous experience in working with children with serious emotional disturbances.
Essential Job Functions (Physical Elements, Equipment And Working Conditions)
- Holidays: Most employees receive the following holidays: 1) New Year's Day; 2) Spring Holiday to be observed the Friday immediately preceding Easter; 3) Memorial Day; 4) July 4th; 5) Labor Day; 6) Thanksgiving Day; 7) Friday after Thanksgiving Day; 8) Day before Christmas; 9) Christmas Day; and l0) one Floating Holiday of the Employee’s choice. For a list of holidays in the law enforcement units see their Collective Bargaining Agreements. Holidays are pro-rated for part-time employees.
- Sick Leave: Employees earn one day (8 hours) of sick leave for every month they work. Employees can use the sick leave after completing six months of service. Sick leave can be accumulated to a maximum of 130 days (1040 hours) for employees in general bargaining units and 150 days for employees in law enforcement units. Employees in certain job classes are able to receive a pay out of a portion of their accumulated sick leave (generally after ten years or more of continuous employment). Sick leave is pro-rated for part-time employees.
- Vacation: Employees receive vacation based upon the work group/bargaining unit their job class is assigned to. See the Rock County Personnel Ordinance or the Administrative Policy and Procedures Handbook for the exact number of days. Vacation is pro-rated for part-time employees.
- Deferred Compensation: Employees can participate in one of several deferred compensation plans (Nationwide, Wisconsin Deferred Comp, and Security Benefits) at their own cost.
