Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by greeting and thanking them promptly and courteously, answering questions, responding to requests, accurately placing special orders, and offering suggestions for event planning.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy and quality.
• Weigh, wrap, package, and label products for display; stock and rotate products to maintain freshness and appeal; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste.
• Maintain knowledge of bakery products and ad items to offer product suggestions and direct customers to product locations.
• Prepare various baked foods according to company guidelines, ensuring proper food handling and safety.
• Communicate customer requests to department management and follow all department procedures.
• Operate department equipment and tools safely and keep work areas clean, orderly, and free from hazards; report faulty equipment and follow sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or G.E.D.).
• Six months of related experience; previous bakery and cake decorating experience preferred.
• Knowledge of product ordering, inventory control, bakery operations, merchandising, sales techniques, and department management.
• Ability to learn and retain policies and procedures, make decisions, lead and instruct team members, and work within a team environment.
• Basic math skills and ability to read, write, and count.
• Knowledge of strategies, practices, and tools for gathering and communicating information in a retail environment.
• Excellent communication skills; outgoing, friendly, and able to interact effectively across diverse cultures.
• Baking and decorating techniques, and food safety practices.
• Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours.
• Must be able to operate equipment used in the department (oven, scales, label machine, etc.).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects in a basic store environment.

Pay

Hiring pay range: $17.25 - $27.20 per hour.
