About the role
Join Journey Bank, a strong, independent community bank with 22 locations and 290 employees, as a full-time Deposit Operations Associate I. This on-site position at our Central Road Operations Center in Bloomsburg, PA, supports the deposit operations function and contributes to the financial well-being of our community.
Responsibilities
- Research and correct errors; contact employees or customers to obtain information needed to resolve issues; draft letters to customers as required.
- Submit check adjustments to the Federal Reserve for checks that did not post properly.
- Image various documents in accordance with established procedures.
- Serve as the primary person for answering phone calls in the department.
- Handle Mobile Deposit review, processing, and customer service.
- Monitor and order supplies for the department.
- Monitor the department email and respond to inquiries.
- Assist Community Offices and Customer Support with customer questions and issues.
- Review stop payment reports and forms for accuracy.
- Monitor Reg E reports to ensure accuracy and signed documentation.
- Perform transaction monitoring and research to identify fraud.
- Monitor Savings Bond transactions for accuracy and submit corrections when needed.
- Provide customer support for Business Online banking and the Commercial Services Department.
- Perform various backup duties to support Deposit Operations functionality.
- Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the department and across departments to ensure smooth and efficient information flow.
- Adhere to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and regulatory compliance (e.g., Community Reinvestment Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act).
- Respond to inquiries from customers and bank personnel within established time frames and policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with an emphasis in business or financial curriculum.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a banking or related position.
- Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematic skills.
- Moderate interpersonal, communicative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Moderate PC skills and working knowledge of deposit operations and procedures.
- Visual and auditory skills sufficient for the role.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
