Department Supervisor
About the role
Department Supervisors lead, train, coach and develop associates in each department to ensure customers receive excellent service and can easily find the merchandise they need. In addition, they provide valuable input into operational and merchandising decisions to the Store Management Team and Operations Team. Department Supervisors have strong product and operational knowledge. Specific store departments may include Building Materials, Decor, Electrical, Flooring, Gardening, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, Pro Account Sales, Tool Rental, Front End, Freight, Receiving, Associate Support, Special Services, and Merchandising Execution or a combination of multiple departments depending on store structure.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train, coach and develop associates in each department to ensure customers receive excellent service and can easily find the merchandise they need.
- Provide valuable input into operational and merchandising decisions to the Store Management Team and Operations Team.
- Have strong product and operational knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Home Depot’s policies and procedures.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in using Home Depot’s point-of-sale system.

Pay
The pay range for this position is between $24.00.
Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
Schedule
Onsite – These roles offer the opportunity to be part of a team at a specific physical location. Associates in these positions work in person at a local store, warehouse, or office, supporting daily operations and building strong relationships with their teams.
