About the role

The Department of World Languages and Literatures invites applications for the position of Teaching Associate (TA) for introductory Spanish courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one introductory Spanish course
  • Prepare weekly lessons
  • Hold office hours
  • Evaluate student work
  • Proctor examinations
  • Maintain/submit student records (e.g. grades)
  • Evaluate student assignments
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish (or related discipline)
  • Current enrollment as a graduate student at CSUSB
  • Academic eligibility (3.0 GPA or higher)
  • Able to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish (or related discipline)
  • Completed coursework/training in language teaching (SPAN 6615 or equivalent)
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population
  • Experience in ethnically diverse settings and/or commitment to serving diverse student populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience

  • Complies with CSU Executive Order 1083

Benefits

Salary is commensurate with experience. (Actual Salary will be in accordance with percentage of time appointed)

Teaching Associate - Academic Year (2354) Range 2 $3,826 - $9,576 Per Month
Teaching Associate - 12 Month (2353) Range 1 $3,662 - $8,723 Per Month
Teaching Associate - 12 Month (2353) Range 2 $4,374 - $11,019 Per Month
Teaching Associate - Summer Term (2324) Range 1 $3,245 - $13,170 Per Month
Teaching Associate - Summer Term (2324) Range 2 $3,826 - $16,606 Per Month
Substitute Teaching Associate (2453) $21.13 - $95.81 Per Hour
Teaching Associate, Extended ED - For Credit (2309) Range 1 $3,245 - $13,170 Per Month
Teaching Associate, Extended ED - For Credit (2309) Range 2 $3,826 - $16,606 Per Month

Schedule
