About the role

The Kinesiology (KINE) Department at California State University, San Bernardino is seeking part-time lecturer applications from a diverse group of qualified individuals for both our San Bernardino Campus (SBC) as well as our Palm Desert Campus (PDC).

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Kinesiology.
• Work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Teach in any of the three concentrations: Allied Health Professions, Exercise Science, and Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education.
• Subject areas may include Biomechanics, motor development, motor learning, physical education, adapted physical education, sport and exercise physiology, sport and exercise psychology, sociology of sport, statistics in kinesiology, and other kinesiology related classes.

Requirements

• Earned Master’s degrees in Kinesiology/Exercise Science/Physical Education or related area are required.
• In the case of teaching activities classes, a specialized certification may be acceptable.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree, or specialized certification for activity classes, in a field of Kinesiology or related discipline.
• Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Candidates should demonstrate their ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of disciplines.
• Candidates should demonstrate their ability to teach in any of the three concentrations: Allied Health Professions, Exercise Science, and Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education.
• Candidates should demonstrate their ability to teach in subject areas that may include Biomechanics, motor development, motor learning, physical education, adapted physical education, sport and exercise physiology, sport and exercise psychology, sociology of sport, statistics in kinesiology, and other kinesiology related classes.

Benefits

• This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary.
• Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term.

Pay

• Lecturer A (Range 2) - $5,507 – $6,677
• Lecturer B (Range 3) - $6,221 – $13,224
• Lecturer C (Range 4) - $6,825 – $14,523
• Lecturer D (Range 5) - $8,593 – $15,211

Schedule

• This position is temporary and staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term.

About the Department

The Department of Kinesiology at CSUSB promotes kinesiology education, research for educators, students, and practitioners. Our curriculum focuses on physical activity, exercise physiology, motor behavior, principles of human movement, adapted physical activity, and sociology and psychology of sport. The Kinesiology Department offers one BS program in one of three concentrations: allied health professions, exercise science, and physical education and adapted physical education.
