Department of Computer Science Lecturer Pool 2026-2027
About the Role
San Diego State University’s Department of Computer Science is accepting applications for its part-time lecturer pool. Temporary appointments may be either full- or part-time and are often made just prior to the start of the academic term, requiring availability on very short notice.
The Fall term runs from mid-August to late December; the Spring term runs from mid-January to mid-May. Summer teaching opportunities may also be available. Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year, renewable contingent on satisfactory evaluations and continuing availability of work.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
- University teaching experience
- Demonstrated currency in subject matter
Pay
Initial rank and salary are based on professional experience and educational background. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges are:
- Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825 – $14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593 – $15,211
Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range.
