Department Lead - Seasonal

About the Role

The Department Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the assigned department, overseeing activities such as scanning outs, inventory management, recovery, price changes, planogram sets, department cleanliness, and adhering to the indoor merchandising guide to maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the indoor merchandising guide to maintain consistent department and signing standards and appealing displays.
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock counts, scanning outs, reconciling discrepancies, and replenishing inventory.
• Oversee the recovery process to ensure the department remains neat, organized, and visually appealing.
• Coordinate and execute price changes, updating pricing labels and signage as required.
• Manage playbook features and planogram sets to arrange products according to company guidelines.
• Maintain department cleanliness and enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
• Provide exceptional customer service using the customer engagement model.
• Support front-end operations by processing transactions or loadouts as needed.
• Operate general office equipment and retail tools like forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Participate in cross-training and learning initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Provide internal and external support, demonstrating Rural King’s values in all interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High adaptability to changing priorities and challenges.
• Strong problem-solving and task prioritization abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing information.
• Proficiency in navigating computer systems and software.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work a 40-hour week with varied hours, including nights and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to maintain seated or standing positions for extended periods.
• Lift, push, and/or pull 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
• Use ladders and pallet jacks.
• Navigate and access all facilities.
• Effective verbal communication, both in-person and via electronic devices.
• Close vision for computer-related tasks.
