About the role
The Department Coordinator supports the Business Law Department Chair, faculty, and students. They assist with administrative tasks, budget activities, and office workflow.
Responsibilities
- Covers department operations, assists with faculty recruitment, and supports budget activities.
- Maintains department records and prepares schedules of classes (SOC).
- Monitors department expenditures and reconciles department funds.
- Supports students and faculty, serves as a resource, and implements office procedures.
Qualifications
- Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible administrative or technical office management experience.
- Knowledge of administrative operations, office practices, and customer service principles.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of budgeting, financial recordkeeping, and expenditure tracking practices.
- Skilled in interpreting financial information and identifying discrepancies.
- Skilled in processing requisitions, verifying travel authorizations and expense reports.

- Demonstrated knowledge of administrative operations, office practices, and customer service principles.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships.
- Provides guidance and works direction to student assistants.
- Supports efficient workflow through effective coordination, organization, and follow-through on assigned projects and activities.
- Skilled in interpreting financial information and identifying discrepancies to support sound fiscal operations.
- Skilled in processing requisitions, verifying travel authorizations and expense reports.
- Prioritizes operational needs, provides responsive support to multiple stakeholders, and ensures timely completion of administrative transactions.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more. The anticipated HIRING RATE is $4367 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $4367 - $6362 per month. The position is Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends. This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
Requirements
