Department Chair of Mathematics

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, leadership, management, planning and coordination of the Mathematics department.
• Operate and supervise all full and part-time programs.
• Supervise faculty & adjunct faculty.
• Oversee promotional and marketing efforts related to the department.
• Lead curriculum and instructional development.
• Conduct assessment functions to include program learning outcomes and student learning outcomes.
• Manage student recruitment, enrollment and registration.
• Provide student advising.
• Lead retention efforts for the Mathematics department.

Requirements

• Doctoral or master's degree in Mathematics, or a master's degree or higher with concentration in Mathematics (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics) from an accredited institution of higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in teaching at a two-year college.
