About the role
The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at IU Indianapolis seeks exceptional candidates for various open positions, including Department Chair, Lecturer, and Assistant/Associate/Full Professor roles in Biomedical Engineering and Informatics, Computer Science, Library and Information Science, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, Multichannel Web Design and Development, and Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
Responsibilities
- Teaching assigned courses in graduate and undergraduate programs
- Developing courses for the traditional classroom setting, computer labs, and online education
- Helping set program and specialization goals
- Developing and continually updating the curriculum and training activities
- Contributing to the recruitment and marketing of the program
- Interviewing, evaluating, and advising students
- Engaging in scholarly activity related to teaching
- Serving as a member of campus, school, department and program committees
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills in the computer science profession through active participation in professional organizations, collaboration, practice, and research
- Serving on professional committees
Requirements
Exceptional faculty candidates are being sought to join our fast-growing department. We welcome applications from established researchers with collaborative research teams. Candidates must be tenured and demonstrate a strong scholarly record of effective, well-reviewed teaching, a scholarly record of externally-funded research, exhibited by high-impact peer-reviewed publications and a forward-looking, research agenda.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and vision to expand and advance current and future Biomedical Engineering degree programs at the BS, MS, and PhD levels
- Outstanding scholarly record of research, exhibited by high-impact peer-reviewed publications and a forward-looking, externally funded research agenda as Principal Investigator (PI)
- Experience in applications to biomedical and health sciences
- Committed educator with experience effectively teaching in an online environment and five or more years of professional (industry) experience in relevant areas
- Deep understanding of career opportunities in the information professions and a passion for graduate student mentoring
- Experience in emerging technologies in libraries and archives, educational technology, and technology in support of information organization and systems
- Experience in Web Design and Development
- Excellent research record, demonstrated through high-impact peer-reviewed publications
- Ability or significant potential to secure external funding and develop a forward-looking research agenda as a Principal Investigator (PI)
