The Denver Gazette is seeking a driven sports reporter to cover the Colorado Rockies, delivering breaking news, exclusive content, and in-depth analysis in a competitive media landscape. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with players, coaches, team management, and other sources to uncover and report stories that set our coverage apart.

Responsibilities

• Break news and cover breaking stories with urgency.
• Produce game coverage, daily team updates, features, and notebooks.
• Develop enterprise stories, off-day content, and thoughtful profiles.
• Create weekly podcasts in collaboration with the digital team and digital sports editor.
• Contribute to regular radio segments and maintain an active, engaging social media presence.
• Work with staff to produce compelling video and alternative story formats.
• Deliver original reporting that adds value beyond what fans already know from watching games.

Requirements

• Proven ability to break news and develop exclusive content.
• Strong work ethic and originality in reporting.
• Experience building professional relationships with sources in sports.
• Proficiency in digital storytelling, including podcasts, video, and social media.
