Dentist - Part Time

About the role

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Dentist is responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality dental care to patients, both preventive and restorative. You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with staff, patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general dental care activities
  • Understand and align with the Corporation’s goals and objectives as outlined in the By-Laws and Policy and Procedure Manuals
  • Maintain accurate case histories, examination reports, and other medical records in the approved format
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat dental problems of patients
  • Develop and document an appropriate plan for managing identified dental issues
  • Promote preventive care and healthy lifestyles for patients across all lifecycles
  • Supervise the dental assistant effectively
  • Assist in developing and implementing dental care plans
  • Provide root canal therapy and crowns to patients under 18 years of age
  • Deliver non-surgical periodontal treatment
  • Coordinate services with other Center providers, local specialists, and community resources
  • Remain accountable to the Chief Executive Officer for the daily operations of the dental clinic
  • Follow established healthcare standards and protocols for each dental service and program
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and records
  • Actively participate in Performance Improvement activities
  • Maintain complete, up-to-date, and accurate problem-oriented medical records
  • Comply with credentialing and administrative requirements to meet regulatory standards
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of the job
  • Work to ensure the productivity and effectiveness of the dental staff, focusing on utilization and patient satisfaction
  • Attend classes, workshops, and seminars to maintain clinical competency and stay informed of changes in community health
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance
  • Verify timecard at the end of each pay period
  • Complete required IT/Security trainings prior to the deadline
  • Perform related work as assigned
