About the role

Community Health Center of the North Country is a rural Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) providing comprehensive, equitable, and accessible high-quality health care and human services to individuals and families of all income levels. As a Dentist, you’ll provide high-quality, patient-centered dental care while helping to improve access to essential oral health services in an underserved community. The center is NHSC-approved, making this position eligible for federal loan repayment programs. Both new graduates and experienced dentists passionate about community-based care are welcome. Reports to the Dental Director.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive dental examinations, diagnoses, treatment, and preventive care.
  • Develop and explain individualized treatment plans with patients and families.
  • Provide appropriate prescriptions and ensure safe, accurate documentation.
  • Perform dental procedures and operate dental and radiographic equipment safely.
  • Follow infection prevention and control standards and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with dental assistants and other members of the health care team to provide coordinated patient care.
  • Refer patients for specialized services when needed and coordinate care with other providers.
  • Provide education to patients and staff on oral health, prevention, and proper dental care.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely patient records and documentation.
  • Coordinate and monitor dental laboratory cases, including prosthetic work.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, quality improvement activities, and other initiatives that support excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • Current New York State license to practice dentistry (DDS or DMD).
  • CPR/BLS certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong clinical, organizational, communication, and computer skills.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks or another electronic health record (EHR) system preferred.
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach and the ability to build trust with patients and families.
  • Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, confidentiality, and high-quality care.

Pay

$200,000 – $250,000 annually, based on experience. Relocation/sign-on bonus negotiable.

Schedule

Flexible Monday–Friday daytime schedule. No nights, weekends, major holidays, or on-call responsibilities. Full-time, part-time, or per diem opportunities available.
