Dentist - Endodontist
About the role
The Endodontist will have earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and will have completed an ADA accredited training program in Endodontics. Board certification in Endodontics or board eligibility in accordance with the rules of The American Board of Endodontics is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Experienced and competent in all phases of Endodontics including anterior, and posterior as well as apical surgery.
- Proficient in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment care in all the above areas.
- Trained and competent in providing Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Able to manage medically complex patients and provide appropriate prosthodontic treatment.
- Collegial with other dentists and physicians, and skilled in working with residents in all areas and specialties of dentistry.
- Proficient in using the computerized record system.
- Assigned by the Chief or Assistant Chief of dental as well as other providers as indicated dentist. Plans and completes tasks based on established protocols/accepted dental practices. Work is reviewed on an overall basis by the Chief, Dental Service for conformity to Dental Service policy and requirements.
Requirements
Physical Requirements: To perform in a fully successful manner, the individual must have the physical ability to perform job-related duties which may require light carrying (under 15 pounds), reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, both hands required, walking (up to 1 hour), standing (up to 1 hour), and both legs required. In addition, there may be exposure to the following environmental factors: working inside and outside, working closely with others, and protracted or irregular hours of work. A health examination must be successfully completed prior to this assignment and periodically thereafter as required by the Occupational Health Clinic policy. There may be intermittent exposure to blood and body fluids.
