About the role

The Associate General Dentist will provide comprehensive, high-quality dental care to patients of all ages in a part-time capacity, working one day per week (Fridays).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex dental procedures including exams, fillings, crowns, bridges, removable prosthodontics (partial/immediate/complete dentures), extractions, and root canals.
• Diagnose oral diseases and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
• Educate patients on oral health, preventative care, and treatment options.
• Administer local anesthesia and ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Supervise dental assistants and hygienists to support coordinated patient care.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients about findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Accurately maintain patient records, treatment notes, and charting in compliance with HIPAA and practice policies.
• Provide post-treatment care instructions and follow-up as needed.
• Collaborate with other dentists, hygienists, assistants, and front-office staff to ensure seamless patient experiences.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement and clinical efficiency initiatives.
• Support mentoring and training of junior staff, externs, or dental assistants if applicable.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
• Active state dental license in good standing.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Strong clinical skills across a broad range of general dentistry procedures, including removed and fixed prosthodontics, and endodontics.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient management skills.
• Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team member.
• Prior experience in private practice, community health, or public health settings preferred but not required.
• Likely to be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without Visa Sponsorship.

Work Environment

May involve extended periods of standing and use of dental instruments and equipment. PPE required; exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical disinfectants is possible.
