WHAT DO WE DO?
CHSI is a private, non-profit organization established in 1973 to serve the health needs of migrant & seasonal farmworkers and their family members. Today, CHSI has expanded services and provides mental & physical healthcare to all individuals in our communities. Our services are provided on a more affordable sliding fee scale to those who are under-insured or un-insured. We also accept ND and MN Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans. We currently operate four nurse-managed clinics, two mobile medical units, and two victim advocacy program centers in Minnesota & North Dakota.
About the role
We are on the search for a Full-time Dentist to join our Moorhead, MN team. As a Dentist, your role is to
- Carry out general dentistry
- Teach patients how to take care of their teeth
- Write prescriptions for painkillers and antibiotics
- Attend to patients' broken or cracked teeth
- Treat treatments for cavities and decay including diagnosing and treating oral disorders; placing fillings; examining patients for jaw and dental conditions; and extracting teeth
- Maintain comprehensive treatment programs
- Interpret x-rays
Who are we looking for?
In addition to being a wonderful team member and advocate for patients, we are seeking an individual with the below qualifications:
Physical Abilities
- Ability to bend and crouch occasionally, sit continuously, and stand or walk frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use hands/arms, feet/legs for repetitive fine to large motor skill movements.
Educational & Skills
- S. or D.M.D. from a school accredited by Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and American Dental Association.
- Licensed to practice in ND and MN (or willing to obtain).
- Certification in CPR.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication.
- Computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Medical Records.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Careful and compassionate of patients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work in an intense, concentrated environment.
- Calm and cool-headed with a positive attitude.
- Complies with all office, local, state, and American Dental Association regulations, protocols, and procedures.
