About the role

This full-time position at the Sevier County Health Department focuses on providing clinical dental services to uninsured and TennCare adults and children. The role operates Monday through Friday with no weekends or on-call rotations and includes full support staff for scheduling, billing, and claims.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical dental services to prevent or eliminate dental disease.
• Facilitate onboarding, training, and continuing education for assigned staff.
• Utilize quality improvement methods to maintain efficient and effective clinic processes, including patient flow.
• Analyze monthly productivity reports to identify issues or areas for improvement.
• Monitor clinical productivity and review clinical reports regularly.
• Identify developmental needs of staff and provide coaching, mentoring, or skill-building support.
• Supervise local dental care staff, including administrative duties and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with Tennessee Board of Dentistry and Tennessee Department of Health regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) with dental licensure in Tennessee.
• Unrestricted DEA license required.
• Self-directed problem-solving skills with excellent clinical abilities.
• Significant clinical mentoring experience.
• Strong computer skills and adaptability to changing environments, including new electronic dental and medical record systems.
