About the role
As a State of Connecticut Dentist, you will provide comprehensive dental care, perform examinations to diagnose, treat, and educate patients on their oral conditions/diseases, engage in a rewarding career, work with a collaborative team to achieve success, and make an impact and gain valuable experience in the public sector.
Responsibilities
- Provide preventive dental maintenance and acute dental care including oral examinations and diagnoses, operative and prosthetic dentistry, exodontia, periodontia, radiology, and prophylaxis.
- Consult with physicians to aid in medical diagnoses by investigating possible foci of dental and oral infections which might affect physical condition of clients.
- Request laboratory tests and x-rays.
- Administer drugs.
- Respond to dental emergencies.
- Educate clients and staff on the importance of good oral health and dental services offered by the facility.
- Participate in instruction of dental residents and dental assistant students.

- Must possess and maintain eligibility for participation in federal health care programs as defined in 42 U.S. 1320a-7b(F).

Pay
Salary calculations are not necessarily comparable from one of the three branches of state government (i.e., Executive, Legislative, Judicial) to the other.
