Role Overview

The Dental Treatment Coordinator serves as the critical link between patients and Avenue 360’s dental services. This role ensures patients understand their treatment plans, receive timely care, and fulfill their financial responsibilities. Through strong communication, coordination, and compliance, the Treatment Coordinator directly supports the organization’s mission of improving oral health outcomes and completing treatment plans within one year. This role is accountable for delivering measurable results aligned with departmental and organizational goals and ensuring alignment with our company vision and core values.

Areas of Accountability

  • Patient Treatment Plan Coordination
  • Making sure patients understand their treatment plans and complete them within one year.
  • Patient Communication & Education
  • Ensuring patients clearly understand their treatment plans, oral health, and financial responsibilities, increasing compliance through one-on-one education and support.
  • Insurance Verification & Payment Collection
  • Verifying insurance eligibility (including Medicaid and Medicare), coordinating re-certifications, and accurately implementing and collecting co-pays and other payments.
  • Schedule & Patient Flow Management
  • Managing accurate appointment scheduling, daily schedule reviews, and efficient patient flow to minimize wait times and improve the overall clinic experience.
  • Documentation & EHR Compliance
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation in patient charts and electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and privacy laws.
  • Performance & Productivity
  • Maintaining consistent accuracy, follow-through, and service quality standards, meeting organizational key performance goals for call center volumes.
  • Flexibility & Additional Responsibilities
  • Providing cross-coverage to other clinics as needed, adapting to changing priorities and assisting with tasks outside of routine responsibilities when necessary.

Education, Licensure/Certification

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • One-year dental experience from a similar setting or formal training from a vocational school in lieu of the above.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications; experience with the EHR database systems is also desirable.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desired.
  • Registered Dental Assistant with TSBDE highly desired.
  • The minimum number of continuing education (CE) hours to maintain licensure must be obtained annually.

Experience, Skills/Abilities Related Requirements

  • One-year dental experience from a similar setting.
  • Formal training from a vocational school in lieu of the above.
