About the Role
The Registered Dental Hygienist directs oral hygiene care for KPDCP members, including comprehensive prevention, maintenance, therapeutic dental treatment, and/or restorative services. The RDH educates members on their oral status, motivating them to achieve and maintain optimum oral health.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient oral hygiene care, including comprehensive prevention, maintenance, and/or therapeutic dental treatment restorative services.
- Data collection and documentation pertaining to patients' oral health in compliance with policy and procedure.
- Provide oral hygiene instruction and education.
- Maintain a work area appropriate to a clinical environment in compliance with environmental health and safety standards.
- Support other office functions during downtime, ensuring cooperation and a positive work environment.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program with a minimum of an associate degree in applied science.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- National Provider Identifier.
- Dental Hygienist License (Oregon).
- Local anesthesia endorsement and nitrous oxide permit (Oregon Dental Hygiene license only; these are included in the Washington State Dental Hygiene license).
- Daily use of X-ray equipment, ultrasonic scalers, and handpieces for polishing teeth and fillings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of sterilization and infection control equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Restorative function endorsement (Oregon Dental Hygiene license only; this endorsement is included in the Washington State Dental Hygiene license).
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Shift: Day (07:00 AM – 06:00 PM).
- Workdays: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and variable Saturdays.
- Worker location: Onsite at Salmon Creek Medical/Dental Offices.
Pay
$56.53 - $60.65 per hour. Kaiser Permanente strives to offer a market-competitive total rewards package and is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted pay range is based on possible base salaries for the role. Actual base pay determined at offer will consider labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
