ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Patient screening procedures, such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting, and taking blood pressure and pulse.
- Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth, under the supervision of a dentist.
- Taking digital radiographs using snap-a-ray positioners (x-rays)
- Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
- Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
- Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health
- Provides chair-side assistance to the dentist in the performance of periodontal procedures, tests, and complex treatments.
- Documents the dental history and chief complaint, if any, and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dentist and dental team as appropriate; documents lab procedures and ensures follow-up on results.
- Performs documentation and office management activities as needed, such as preparation of reports
- Affords assistance with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during the treatment of patients
- Affords assistance in the preparation of patient care areas, and in the patient admission, transfer, and discharge process as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene
- Current license as a dental hygienist in the state of Oklahoma
- Administration of local anesthesia expanded function preferred
- Administration of Nitrous Oxide expanded function preferred
- Must possess a valid Healthcare provider CPR certification.
- 1-3 years’ experience preferred
- Clearance of background check and drug screen.

- Knowledge of Eaglesoft software preferred
