Dental Hygienist/EPDH - Outreach Roles

About the role

This position is for a Full-Time Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist (EPDH) focused on delivering preventive oral healthcare through school-based dental sealant programs and community outreach.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive services independently within your scope, including sealants, assessments, intra-oral photos, x-rays, and hygiene care
• Educate students, families, and staff on oral health
• Coordinate sealant events, referrals, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with tele-dentists for diagnosis and treatment planning
• Prescribe antibiotics as guided
• Perform scoop and fill procedures
• Serve as an Oral Health Champion
• Partner with schools and community organizations
• Manage schedules and administrative tasks, including insurance verification and electronic health records
• Support outreach efforts

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
• Active Oregon Dental Hygiene License and EPDH certification
• CPR and local anesthesia certification required
• Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
• Experience working with children, families, and community partners
• Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer skills
• Proactive, self-directed approach
