Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment room and select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits.
- Provide oral hygiene and postoperative instructions to patients and answer their questions.
- Maintain and sterilize dental instruments, document dental hygiene services, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhere to infection-control policies and protocols, and conserve dental resources.
- Ensure proper functioning of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Dental Hygienist school.
- Experience: Two (2) years' experience, Previous correctional/detention facility experience, Five (5) years' experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Unrestricted current Dental Hygiene license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc., Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHACurrent (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA.
