Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment room and select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits.
  • Provide oral hygiene and postoperative instructions to patients and answer their questions.
  • Maintain and sterilize dental instruments, document dental hygiene services, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhere to infection-control policies and protocols, and conserve dental resources.
  • Ensure proper functioning of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Dental Hygienist school.
  • Experience: Two (2) years' experience, Previous correctional/detention facility experience, Five (5) years' experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Unrestricted current Dental Hygiene license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc., Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHACurrent (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA.

Qualifications

Skills

Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and protocols related to dental hygiene and maintain accurate patient records. Ensure proper functioning of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
