Dental Hygienist

TTUHSC is a nationally recognized institution that provides comprehensive healthcare services. Our division, TTUHSC Managed Care, focuses on delivering high-quality, low-cost healthcare to patients within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system.
Responsibilities
- Professionally clean teeth including prophies and scaling and root planing
- Presents instructions on proper personal oral hygiene
- Captures digital radiographs
- Administers topical fluoride
- Disinfects surfaces and dental equipment
- Sterilizes dental instruments according to OSHA regulations
- Takes thorough inventory of instruments through daily counts and logs
- Serve as Dental Assistant when needed
- Proper record keeping and maintenance both in manual and automated systems
- Ensure dental supplies are on hand and ordered in a timely manner
- Answer sick call requests and schedules patients in a timely manner
Requirements
- A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved dental hygiene training program
- Licensed to practice dental hygiene by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners

Pay
