General Purpose
In order to ensure quality dental services, the Dental Hygienist assists the Dentist in providing dental care to patients.Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities
- Provides dental care to patients.
- Affords practical suggestions to patients to ensure proper oral hygiene.
- Conducts oral cancer screening exams and x-rays.
- Performs routine oral hygiene maintenance procedures and applications for damage prevention.
- Works with dental staff to sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
- Collaborates with dental staff to evaluate patient medical chart information as it relates to dental.
- Documents updated patient data on EMR system related to dental procedures.
- Enters patient health data into the electronic medical records system (EMR) database.
Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.
- Participates in continuing education courses for most current dental industry information.

Education and Experience
- Required: Certification or eligibility for certification as a dental hygienist from an accredited dental school program.
- Associates degree preferred.
- Previous experience working as a dental hygienist in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Required: Active BLS/CPR certification.

- Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work from procedure manuals.
- Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDE’s diverse patient population.
- Customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse upset patients.
- Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products.
- Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of patients, employees and business information.
Pay
A competitive salary range of $85,800 - $120,200 depending on experience.Benefits
