• Perform advanced prophylactic and preventative procedures for patients with various conditions, such as diabetes and periodontal disease.
• Administer local anesthesia under dentist supervision.
• Conduct thorough oral assessments and take dental radiographs.
• Provide patient education on effective oral hygiene practices.
• Participate in developing oral health education initiatives tailored for specific patient groups, including those with unique medical challenges.
• Create instructional materials and conduct engaging health programs.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program in the United States.
• Valid Dental Hygienist license in Nevada.
• At least two years of professional experience, demonstrating proficiency in advanced dental hygiene practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with patients and educating them on effective oral health strategies.
• Keen attention to detail for performing accurate assessments and administering treatments.
• Ability to navigate dental software and tools to enhance patient management.
• Must pass a background and drug/alcohol test.

About the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony

The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony (RSIC) is a federally recognized tribal government dedicated to the economic and social advancement of its people. Established in the early 1900s and formally recognized under the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, the RSIC represents over 1,100 members of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe Tribes—Three Tribes, One Nation.

Our lands include the original 28-acre Colony in central west Reno and a 1,920-acre community in Hungry Valley, located 19 miles north of the Colony in the scenic Eagle Canyon region of Nevada. The RSIC is a vibrant and growing organization that honors traditional teachings and cultural heritage while embracing modern business practices and innovative governance.
